Die Utopie „New Babylon“ des Künstlers Constant Nieuwenhuys ist eine neu gedachte, radikale Stadtentwicklung aus dem 20. Jahrhundert, die Lebensräume nicht mehr durch ihre Grenzen, sondern durch Nutzen definiert und mittels individueller Farbgebung sichtbar macht. studio ASYNCHROME experimentiert mit dieser Utopie, macht Constant’s Stadtpläne erfahrbar und lässt die Eggenberger Allee abwechselnd in roter, grüner und blauer Farbe erstrahlen. Durch das Verändern der Lichträume sind Besucherinnen und Besucher angehalten spontan in einen Austausch mit ihrer wechselnden Umgebung zu treten und ihre Gefühls- und Sinneswelt an diesen neuen Stimmungsraum anzupassen.

Von Winfried Ritsch komponierte „Klangpfade“ begleiten die Besucherinnen und Besucher auf ihrem Weg durch die Lichtinstallation „Constant’s Zones“. Mikrokompositionen, sogenannte „SoundLives“, lassen dabei hinter die Fassaden des Stadtviertels Eggenberg blicken und hören: Mit dem Tropfen des Wasserhahns, mit Wortfetzen und Musik, mit Schritten oder dem Surren eines Elektrogerätes.

Visitors make their way through the Constant’s Zones light installation to the accompaniment of “sound paths” composed by Winfried Ritsch. Micro-compositions, known as SoundLives, allow them to look and listen behind the facade of the Eggenberg district, through the dripping of a tap, scraps of conversation and music, footsteps or the hum of an electrical appliance.
